A Safety 1, Safety 2 and Safety 3 course will run on Saturdays for 5 weeks during May 2026


SAFETY 1 tests principles of Water Safety & simple rescue techniques especially those whose swimming ability precludes them from further lifesaving training.

SAFETY 2 introduces simple rescue techniques including minimum risk to the rescuer. It is designed to prepare the candidate for lifesaving training.

VENUE: Active Ennis Leisure Centre

DATES (x 5): 

TIME: 12.45 - 14.00

PREREQUISITE: Be able to swim 2 lengths (50m)

DELIVERY by Water Safety Ireland - Clare, a voluntary body promoting water safety education throughout the county

Safety 2 introduces simple rescue techniques including minimum risk to the rescuer. It is designed to prepare the candidate for lifesaving training.

Safety 3: Suitable for candidates approx 11/12 yrs or more. Confident in the water to swim 50m+

Safety 4: Suitable for candidates approx 12/13 yrs or more. Ideally hold a Safety 3 cert

Rescue 1: candidate must hold a valid Safety 4, be able to swim 400m and be at least 12 yrs of age

Rescue 2 - candidate must hold a valid Rescue 1, be able to swim 600m and be at least 13 yrs
