Nippers will return to pool training on Sunday November 26th 8am to 10am at Ennis swimming pool.
All Nippers are welcome.
Junior Nippers: (Little Nippers) 8-11 years (born 2013 - 2016)
A Junior Nipper who is currently 7 years old and does not turn 8 years of age until 2024 will be able to train (as all competitions will be held in 2024) and will be very welcome provided they can meet the swimming requirements.
Senior Nippers: (Big Nippers) 12-14 years (born 2010 - 2012)
Training will take place every Sunday (excluding holidays) at Ennis swimming pool.
Junior Nippers: 8am to 9am
Senior Nippers: 9am to 10am
Nipper membership is primarily dependent on:
- Competitors being confident in the water.
2. 8 & 9 year olds – Competitors being comfortably able to swim 50m (2 lengths) front crawl without stopping with face mainly in the water breathing to the side.
3. 10, 11 & 12 year olds – Competitors being comfortably able to swim 100m (4 lengths) front crawl without stopping with face in the water breathing to the side.
4. 13 & 14 year olds – Competitors being comfortably able to swim 200m (8 lengths) front crawl without stopping with face in the water breathing to the side.
5. Competitors committing to competing for County Clare at the Regional and National competitions (if they qualify for the National competition).
If you are unsure of your child's ability in the water, please bring them to the swimming pool beforehand to assess this, as it can be very disheartening for the child if they are unable to satisfactorily complete the swim trial.
